For auction is a 1970's IWC Ingenieur 866AD caliber 8541 automatic on Gay Freres beads of rice 37mm case with patina blue dial. The Good: 1. The ref 866AD (the D for date) is a generally rare watch. Rarer still with a blue dial. 2. This one will be on both the good list and the bad list but the patina dial is amazing. Blue paint from this era can develop some of the craziest patina patterns and this IWC is a prime example. I would call this dial 'destroyed, but in a great way'. Really good looking in person. 3. It has its original bracelet and its a GREAT vintage bracelet, among the best really. 4. Case condition is excellent unpolished. 5. It is working and functioning correctly. The Bad: 1. If you don't like a patina dial you will not like this watch.

Condition: 82% (8.2 of 10): case is really great shape as is bracelet, dial shows a heavy unique patina, working and functioning correctly
