For auction is a 1960's Girard-Perregaux GP King David 18k yellow gold florentine finish baguette sapphire highly unusual automatic 39 jewels. The Good: 1. A possibly unique and especially exquisite piece. Using a naming convention similar to a King Midas the King David was something undoubtedly special from GP. Everything about it is really outstanding: the case shape, the florentine finish, the medallion-esque nature of the shape, the baguette sapphire and the way the date window is symmetrically set to complement the sapphires. It is just about as collectible and special a vintage GP that exists outside of GP Type 20's. Cool doesn't really fully capture the magic of this watch. 2. Condition is excellent overall with only some minor wear on the dial. 3. Working and functioning correctly, amplitude +180 and -30 seconds per day. The Bad: 1. Movement cannot be manually wound as there is no clutch mechanism on the caliber but works correctly when worn and wound by automatic function. This is truly an exquisite, rare and very special vintage piece.

Condition: 85% (8.5 of 10): very nice case condition with only light wear on the dial, working and functioning correctly
